A quality control laboratory for medical instruments will be set up under the auspices of the Food and Drug Administration’s reference laboratory soon, said Seyyed Hussein Safavi, general secretary of the Office for Monitoring and Evaluation of Medical Equipment and Supplies at the FDA. “Establishing the laboratory was long overdue and we have been pursuing the matter for years,” he said, ILNA reported. The building was constructed last year and a major part of the equipment has been supplied. The next step is getting FDA accreditation after preliminary evaluation tests before its official opening.
