A one-day influenza symposium to raise awareness of doctors, nurses and medical staff on the latest solutions to cope with the increasing incidence of the flu in the country will be held on December 31 at Avicenna Conference Hall, Shahid Beheshti University, Tehran, said Dr Masoud Mardani, a member of the national Infectious Diseases Research Center. The conference is organized by the university in collaboration with the Health Ministry’s Center for Communicable Diseases Management, he added, IRNA reported. The recent outbreak of swine flu (H1N1) in some provinces killed 51 people. Hundreds also suffer from influenza which is common in the cold season.
