A young Iranian boy won the first place in the UCMAS International Competition 2015. Parsa Farrokhi, 12, from Alborz Province, emerged the world champion out of 10,000 students aged 5-13 years from 60 countries participating in the 20th round of the Indian-based competition UCMAS, reports Borna News Agency. The international abacus/mental arithmetic competition is an annual event organized by UCMAS Education Group, which brings together over 3,000 children between the ages of five and 14, from all over the world to compete at different levels. This year’s edition was held at the University of Delhi. The Universal Concept of Mental Arithmetic System (UCMAS) is a unique and a scientifically proven concept that does not involve the use of physical instruments, but solely done by the human mind using the mind’s power in performing calculations.
