The Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literature at the University of Tehran officially launched a course for students who are interested in learning Chinese in the presence of China’s Ambassador to Tehran Pang Sen and university officials. “Launching a Mandarin course in an Iranian university is an important step in cultural exchanges between the two countries, and will bolster mutual ties,” Pang said at the event’s ceremony, the university’s website reported. According to the dean of the faculty the number of Chinese language enthusiasts in Iran is on the rise as the Asian economic power continues to spread its role and influence across continents.
