The Health Ministry is cooperating with the Iranian Red Crescent Society in a program called ‘Health Social Worker’ in six provinces, said deputy health minister Dr. Mohammad Aqajani.
“The program starts on Tuesday with 1,500 IRCS volunteers providing physical and emotional support services to patients in 10 hospitals in the provinces of Golestan, Isfahan, Fars, Khuzestan, East Azerbaijan, Tehran, and Alborz,” he said, ISNA reported.
Medical services will not be provided under the program, but patients in need of physical assistance or psychological support will be assisted. The project is implemented globally to help spread affinity and compassion among people.
