The Health Ministry plans to set up 200 specialized cancer centers across the country, announced Health Minister Hassan Qazizadeh Hashemi on Sunday. “The project is targeted to be completed by mid-2017,” he said at the inauguration ceremony of the cancer center at Rasul Akram Hospital in Tehran, IRNA reported. As planned, the new centers will operate at three levels: The first will provide outpatient chemotherapy, the second, radiotherapy and inpatient care as well as chemotherapy, and the third will have PET scans and radiosurgery as well as MRI.
