The vice-president for Women and Family Affairs announced that the bill for ‘Protection of Women’ is in its final stages and hoped it would be ready by next month. Shahindokht Molaverdi told ISNA that different institutions were consulted regarding the bill and it is aimed primarily at empowering women. The bill is also aimed to strengthen family ties, uphold women’s rights and protect women against violence and domestic abuse.
