The third annual three-day National Conference on Neuroendoscopy opened in Kish Island on Friday. Over 100 scholars from Iran, Turkey and Hungary are attending, said Dr Masoud Shirvani, conference executive secretary. The latest methods in neurosurgery and use of advanced neurosurgical equipment in treatment of neurological patients were topics discussed on the first day of the meeting, IRNA quoted Shirvani as saying. Several educational workshops on new treatment methods will also be held, he added. Neuroendoscopy is a minimal-invasive surgical procedure for removing tumors through small holes (about the size of a dime) in the skull, or through the mouth or nose.
