The national plan for Earthquake Safety in School was unveiled at the Third National Conference on Disaster Management held from November 15-16 at Tehran’s Milad Tower. It was unveiled in the presence of officials from the Education Ministry and the Management and Planning Organization, ILNA reported. “The plan will come into effect in mid-December based on which all provinces should undertake seismic nonstructural retrofitting in school facilities as per the standards, and establish a crisis management committee in every school across the country,” said Esmael Najjar, head of National Disaster Management Organization.
