Iran on UNESCO Executive Board

Iran was elected to the UNESCO Executive Board at the 12th Plenary Meeting of the 38th General Conference on Wednesday in Paris, France with 128 votes out of a total of 183. Since the 1979 Islamic Revolution, it is the second time that Iran has become a member of the board, reports iranunesco.ir. The executive board comprising 58 members is elected by the general conference and is one of the three constitutional organs of UNESCO. It has a four-year term.
