President of Isfahan Cardiovascular Research Institute, Dr. Nizal Sarrafzadegan, has been awarded the World Health Organization prize (2015) in NCD Prevention, in the Eastern Mediterranean region. Sarrafzadegan was awarded the prize for her valuable research in the field of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) prevention, in particular cardiovascular diseases, IRNA quoted Ala Alwar, head of the WHO Eastern Mediterranean Region (EMR) office, as saying. Isfahan Cardiovascular Research Institute is a WHO collaborating center for research and training in cardiovascular disease (CVD) control, prevention and rehabilitation for cardiac patients in the EMR.
