Kuwaiti Minister of Education Bader Hamad Al Essa on Friday called for setting up a joint university with Iran.

In a meeting with Iran’s Minister of Science, Research and Technology Mohammad Farhadi on the sidelines of the 38th Session of UNESCO’s General Conference underway in Paris, Al Essa requested information on Iran’s scientific capabilities, and welcomed the cooperation between the two sides in the field of chemistry and polymer, Mehr News Agency reported. Farhadi welcomed the proposal by his Kuwaiti counterpart and said founding a university requires in-depth discussions by both sides. He expressed Tehran’s readiness to cooperate with the Persian Gulf Arab state on joint scientific and technological projects.

The UNESCO conference, attended by representatives from over 195 countries, opened on November 3 and will continue till November 18.
