The devastating floods in Lorestan and its neighboring provinces have caused more than $60 million in damage, including $15 million in agricultural losses, said Houshang Bazvand, Lorestan governor. Many roads, power lines and communication facilities in several districts have also been damaged. On Friday, Mohammad Bagher Nobakht, head of the Management and Planning Organization, visited the flood-hit county of Kouhdasht in Lorestan Province to assess the damage, Mehr News Agency reported. Torrential rains on Wednesday night triggered the flooding affecting Lorestan, Ilam, Kurdistan, Hamedan, Kermanshah and Khuzestan provinces in the western parts of the country. Seven people were killed, including one in Kermanshah and three each in Lorestan and Ilam.
