Tissue Repair Center Planned

The first Comprehensive Tissue and Wound Healing Center will be established by the health and medicine department of the Iranian Academic Center for Education, Culture, and Research (ACECR).
“There are 4-5 million diabetics in the country, among whom 60,000 suffer from foot ulcers annually,” said Dr. Hossein Bakhto, head of the department, at a press conference for the second National Congress of Wound and Tissue Repair, ISNA reported.
The rate of amputation is about 35% for people with ulcers, and their treatment is costly, he said and proposed a specialized center to provide inclusive care to diabetics.
