Nearly 33 new infirmaries in border areas were opened in the first half of the current Iranian year (began March 21), said Dr. Dehdasht Heidari, health and hygiene deputy of the Islamic Republic of Iran Border Guard Command. “We have prioritized healthcare services to residents of border regions,” he said, ISNA reported. During March-September, the command appointed 70 social workers and commissioned eight ambulances in addition to six mobile dental care units for border guards and patrols. “Additionally, five 60-foot maritime border vessels were equipped with medical and first aid gear,” he added.
