The Literacy Movement Organization (LMO) is piloting a project in five provinces to train adults in information technology, according to its director, Ali Baqerzadeh. “Literacy is no longer limited to reading and writing skills, and we must move toward digital literacy,” he said at the launching ceremony of the project, ISNA reported. In the modern world, literacy is also vital in areas of sanitation, economy, and IT, he stressed. The project will be carried out in Tehran, Isfahan, Khorasan Razavi, Kordestan and Kerman provinces, and 500 people will be provided IT knowledge and skills in 100-hour workshops, as part of the total 600-hour LMO educational curriculum.
