The vice-president for women and family affairs has urged the need to protect women against violence. Shahindokht Molaverdi told ISNA that preventive laws are needed to protect women against acts of violence. She cited sexual harassment and acid attacks as two forms of violence that must be sternly dealt with. Efforts have been made to empower and strengthen women to protect themselves against violence, she added.
