Over 150 locally produced food products were given the Food Safety Label by the Food and Drug Administration at a conference on the occasion of World Food Day. Products that promote health among consumers and do not contain additives or preservatives are certified, said Hedayat Hosseini, FDA safety regulations deputy, Borna News Agency reported. Promoting food quality and increasing daily consumption of dairy products top the FDA’s agenda, and Vitamin-D rich products will also receive the label, he said. “We hope the measure will prompt all food industries to observe high standards and trigger healthy competition among them.”
