France to Boost Health Coop.

Health Minister Hassan Hashemi and his French counterpart Marisol Touraine in a meeting in Paris on Wednesday, explored avenues for promoting health cooperation between the two sides. “France is Iran’s most prominent partner in the pharmaceutical industry,” said Hashemi, IRNA reported. “Collaboration will not be limited to importing technology from France, but will also cover joint efforts in scientific areas, including student exchange programs in universities and using Iran’s specialized capacity as a gateway for the French to invest in the regional markets,” he said.

The visit aimed at working out a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Tehran and Paris on health cooperation, which will be finalized during President Hassan Rouhani’s upcoming trip to France. The two ministers also discussed French investment in building hospitals in Iran.
