A ceremony to mark World Food Day in Iran will be held on October 17. World Food Day is celebrated annually on October 16, the founding day of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization in 1945. Local organizations concerned with food security, will participate in the event. Safety and health certificates will be conferred on food products that have achieved high quality benchmarks set by the Food and Drug Administration. In addition, an exhibition will be held to display food products with “traffic light health labels,” and healthy products endorsed by the FDA, as well as ethnic and local foods and handicrafts.
