The book of Selected International Documents on Rights of the Child was published in Iran by the Judiciary’s Department of Documents and Official Translators Affairs. It comprises selective international rules and regulations concerning children’s rights and was compiled under the auspices of Dr. Ali Kazemi, the head of the department, ISNA reported. Iran signed the Convention on the Rights of the Child on September 5, 1991 and ratified it on July 13, 1994. However, it has incorporated a clause that if the text of the convention is or becomes incompatible with domestic laws and Islamic values at any time or in any case, the government shall not abide by it.
