Student Relief Squads

Over 300,000 relief squads were formed in schools across the country since the beginning of the current academic year (September 23).

“Cultivating a culture of compassion and philanthropy and encouraging volunteers for charitable causes is the main objective of establishing the squads,” said Education Ministry’s cultural deputy Hamidreza Kaffash, ILNA reported.

Affiliated to the Iranian Students Organization, they will help create a philanthropists association among students, hold charitable functions, collect school material for needy students in remote or underprivileged areas, and set up scientific groups to tutor weaker students. The squads will start operating in early November in over 30,000 schools.
