Iconic monuments, buildings, landscapes, museums, bridges, and other landmarks across the globe will be lit up blue - the official color of the United Nations to celebrate the UN Day on October 24.
Since October 24 this year coincides with Ashura in the mourning month of Moharram, the blue initiative will be taken in Tehran on October 12, the UN Information Center in Tehran said on Sunday, IRNA reported.
Iran is among the 51 founding members of the UN which signed the UN Charter on October 24, 1945.
