The Textile Industrial Company of the Iranian Red Cresent Society is scheduled to establish 15 new branches across the country by the end of the current year (March 20, 2016), said Zaher Rostami, head of the company.
At present, the firm produces critical relief and rescue supplies and has the capacity to produce 1000 tents and 800 blankets each day, IRNA quoted him as saying.
“All raw materials used in production of the tents and blankets are produced domestically,” he said adding that, currently, the company produces several kinds of fabrics including anti-cut, waterproof and fire resistant.
Last year, 6,000 tents valued at $ 590,000 and 70,000 blankets costing $ 410,000 were exported to neighboring countries including Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Iraq and Syria.
