A seven-member German delegation has arrived in the province with the aim of identifying environmental problems, Parsa Arameshnia, Zagros forests project manager in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province said.
The delegation includes environmental science professors and experts, and will study the mountain range’s western and eastern forests and Yasuj jungles, IRNA reported.
The team’s visit is a good opportunity to exchange information about the causes of Zagros oak trees drying up and to identify the area’s natural potentials.
Dena mountain range, 80 km in length and 15 km average width, is situated on the borders of Isfahan, Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad and Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari provinces. It has more than 40 peaks higher than 4000 meters and hosts over 50 different plant species.
