National Children’s Day (October 8) was celebrated at the Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults in Tehran on Thursday in cooperation with Iran’s national body on the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
“This institute plays a crucial role in leading the way for students and nurture their talent and skills,” said education minister Ali Asghar Fani at the ceremony, the online children’s portal, ganjensan.ir, reported.
“We need to recognize and understand children’s needs and meet them with dignity,” said Alireza Hajizadeh, the newly-elected managing director of IIDCYA.
Noting that this year’s message, ‘The World Is Beautiful When Children Smile’, is appropriately selected, he stressed that the institute will continue with its efforts to provide a platform for collaboration among all pertinent organizations and entities to offer services in support of children’s rights, and create a more child-friendly world.
