Electronic ID Cards for oral health will be provided for seven million primary school students this year, said deputy health minister Ali Akbar Sayyari.

“Prior to receiving their IDs, students will be examined for oral health and receive fluoride varnish treatment,” he said, Borna News Agency reported.

The project is a step in the oral health reform plan that commenced with the academic school year (September 23) and focuses on prevention, education and treatment in primary schools. It will be executed in 60,000 elementary schools across the country, and will also train parents to help with its implementation.

Electronic IDs will be provided to every student free of charge.
