Data from a university study titled ‘ Histopathology and Immunohistochemistry’ indicates that microwave radiation from cell phones lead to side effects in living creatures, including apoptosis which is the process of programmed cell death that may occur in multi-cellular organisms, reports ISNA.
The experiment was carried by Morteza Razavi, a PhD. student at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Khorasan Razavi Province, the largest research university in northeastern Iran. It studied the effects of cell phone radiation on the brain tissue of rats, where the animals were exposed to simulated cell phone radiation (940mhtz) for a month. The results indicated that even a short period of exposure to electromagnetic radiation for 30 minutes a day will damage the blood–brain barrier and cause albumin – the main protein of human blood plasma – leakage through it.
The study suggests reducing the time of cell phone use to emergencies.
