A healthy diet is the key to keeping the liver in good condition, says Fatemeh Nejatbakhsh, faculty member of the Department of Traditional Medicine, Tehran University of Medical Science. Nejatbakhsh pointed to prolonged thirst and hunger “as well as quick movements after a meal as veiled threats to the liver,” reports IRNA. Consumption of fruits immediately after a meal, drinking cold water on an empty-stomach after a shower or after work-out leads to digestive disorders and fatty liver. Moreover, “slimy foods” and alcohol also cause harm to the liver duct. She recommended limiting consumption of dry food in daily diet.
