The document on prevention of deafness and hearing impairment has been devised by the prevention deputy office at the Health Ministry, said Dr. Saeed Mahmoudian, project manager of the National Hearing Health Plan. “A technical workgroup will be formed soon to pursue the matter according to preset protocols. Additionally, the proposed medical treatments will vary based on the regional or provincial status,” he told ISNA. The document will be published for all beneficiaries including the Iran Non-communicable Diseases Research Center, Family Health Office, Environment and Occupational Health Center, Secretariat for the High Council of Health and Food Safety, State Welfare Organization’s Bureau of Disability Prevention, Labor Ministry, and representatives from UNICEF and WHO.
