Afghanistan’s Second Vice-President Sarwar Danesh,  in a meeting on Tuesday with members of the visiting scientific body of Tehran’s Allameh Tabataba’i University, said while political relations with Iran have enhanced in recent years,” the expansion of cultural and education relations is more important.” Nearly 350,000 students are currently receiving higher education in 156 government and private higher education institutes in Afghanistan, showing the huge strides in education and increasing capability for employment and investment, reports Afghanistan’s Bakhtar news agency. Allameh Tabataba’i University is the largest specialized public university in humanities and social sciences in Iran and has close cooperation with higher education institutes in Afghanistan, particularly in short-term education. The university’s medal was conferred on Danesh to honour his academic credentials.
