Secretary General of World Apheresis Association (WAA), Farhad Heshmati met with the board of directors at Iran Blood Transfusion Organization to discuss areas of cooperation between the two sides.
Heshmati, who is also the president of the French Society for Hemapheresis, officially invited IBTO officials to participate in the 2016 WAA Congress in Paris on April 27-29, 2016.
The two sides agreed to share blood transfusion technologies, collaborate in holding the Fourth International Congress of Transfusion Medicine of Iran, lay the groundwork for transferring the knowhow on blood components and plasma derived medicines, and join forces to develop new methods of plasma exchange as an apheresis treatment, reports IRNA.
