Tehran University of Medical Sciences signed a memorandum of understanding with Danish company ‘Novo Nordisk’ to cooperate in diabetes prevention and control. As per the MoU, a factory to produce a new generation of insulin and other drugs to prevent, control, and treat the disease, will be established. “This will help make Iran one of the five countries in the world to produce the new medication,” said Rasoul Dinarvand, head of the Food and Drug Administration. “Research and educational programs will see a boost over the next five years based on the MoU,” deputy health minister for education and university chancellor Baqer Larijani, told IRNA. Novo Nordisk is a global healthcare company with more than 90 years of leadership in diabetes care. Iran has a high rate of the disease.
