All domestically produced medical devices will have ‘Made in Iran’ tags, said Jamal Tavalli, director of Quality Control of Medical Equipment and Facilities, affiliated to the Food and Drug Administration.
“There were a number of cases in which substandard foreign products were sold under the name of local products. The measure aims to nip such cases of fraud in the bud,” he said, reports FDA’s news agency ifdona.ir.
He said all licensed products should have the tags, but those that are in high demand such as vital signs monitors, radiography devices and equipment mostly used in hospital emergency rooms will be labeled first.
