The International Multiple Sclerosis Congress opened on Friday in Mashhad’s Razavi Specialized Hospital in Khorasan Razavi Province.

Over 70 neurologists from Iran and Germany are attending the two-day confab that will provide opportunity for sharing the latest clinical achievements in the fields of diagnosis, treatment and prevention of MS in Iran, IRNA reported.

About 14 articles are to be presented and over 15 articles published in the form of posters, said congress executive director Amir Hojabr-Sadati.

Latest data suggests 2.5 million people worldwide and 30,000 Iranians suffer from MS which is twice as prevalent among women.

Signing a memorandum of understanding between Razavi Hospital and Germany’s Munster University is on the agenda.
