The Tehran Metro has added 73 new coaches at a cost of $73.5 million to increase transportation capacity of the existing subway lines, said Seyed Jafar Tashakori Hashemi, director of Tehran Traffic and Transportation Organization. The measure has been taken to encourage people to use public transport and to help reduce air pollution as well, ISNA quoted him as saying.
