Traffic police are taking measures including assigning teams in the vicinity of shopping centers, to facilitate smooth traffic flow on the eve of the new school year (starts September 23). “Given that traffic worsens a few days prior to school reopening particularly around shopping malls, we are ready to deal with the traffic surge as of Friday (September 11),” said head of Tehran’s traffic police, General Teymour Hosseini, reported ISNA. Police will also be assigned in school neighborhoods to help accelerate traffic flow. Stern action against motorcyclists and car drivers violating traffic rules will be taken.
