Rainfall in Tehran Province dropped by 33% compared to the long-term average and by 19% compared to last crop year’s precipitation. Also Yazd, Semnan and Alborz Provinces registered a fall of 43.5%, 32.9% and 29.2% respectively compared to the previous crop year and had the least amount of annual precipitation.
Bushehr, Hormozagan and Ilam Provinces with 27.5%, 24.3%, and 15.1% precipitation, however, showed increase and recorded the highest amount of rainfall, Mehr news agency quoted Shahrokh Fateh, head of the national center of drought and crisis management of Iran Meteorology Organization, as saying.
