All hospitals affiliated to the Social Security Organization will receive a three-star rating over a two-year period, said Mehdi Derakhshan, director general of SSO’s Direct Care and Treatment depaertment. “All 80 of SSO’s hospitals have been assessed and they will be upgraded to a three-star standard according to their status by March 2017,” he said at a groundbreaking ceremony for a drugstore at Dr. Gharazi Hospital in Malayer, Hamedan Province. A three-star rating indicates promotion in quality of hospital equipment and services to specific standards, IRNA reported. The rating scheme seeks to help achieve global benchmarks in medical care.
