All Iranian expatriates will now be covered by insurance of the Social Security Organization (SSO) and they can apply online at www.tamin.ir for the purpose.
Applicants should first fill up the medical examination form and get it signed by a certified physician accredited by the Iranian Embassy in their country of residence, said Mohammad Hassan Zeda, technical and revenue affairs deputy at SSO.
The forms should then be sent to the consular section of the embassy and the latter will dispatch them to the SSO, reports ISNA. Expatriates should introduce their representative in Iran to the SSO to sign the necessary papers. Iranians living abroad will benefit from insurance services including healthcare by paying monthly premium.
All the procedures can be done online.
There are more than four million Iranians living abroad, but there are no exact statistics on their insurance coverage, he added.
