Only a minute percentage (0.5 %) of complaints is related to online shopping websites which have e-commerce trust logos.

The figure shows that online services offered by such websites are safer than websites without the trust symbols, said Col. Ali Niknafas, head of cybercrime prevention center at Iran’s Cyber Police (FATA).

Cyber police always monitor websites that have the electronic symbol of trust, “so the risk of being a victim of cyber crime is less on such websites,” IRNA quoted him as saying.

“Non-delivery of goods and inconsistency with the photos of brands presented are the most common complaints.”

All websites which have the logo are SSL-secured. Secure Sockets Layer is a standard security technology for establishing an encrypted link between a server and a client.

SSL allows sensitive information such as credit card numbers and login credentials to be transmitted securely.
