A committee comprising members from the Judiciary’s Office of the Deputy for Social and Crime Prevention, Iranian Prisons Organization and the Law Enforcement Forces, will be formed to supervise prisoners on leave. “Since some offenders on leave are found to commit crimes, it is necessary to scrutinize the purpose of granting leave to prisoners and monitor them when they are on parole,” said Majid Akbarpour, a judicial official. “A system will be designed and set up to screen the performance of convicts during their break”, reports IRNA.
