Parks and Green Spaces organization of Tabriz Municipality has asked the people to destroy the ‘Polyphylla olivieri castelnau,’ an agricultural pest, on spotting it. Only two or three larvae of the insect is enough to kill a young tree, said Mohammad Hossein Hassanzadeh, head of the organization. The pest attacks fruit and other trees worldwide. Its larvae harms the roots and causes trees to ultimately get uprooted, the Iranian Agriculture News Agency (IANA) reported.
