Old Cars Banned in LTZ

All cars over 20 years old will soon be prohibited from entering the limited traffic zones (LTZ) in Tehran in an effort to check air pollution, under a new plan devised by the Tehran Traffic and Transportation Organization, said its director Seyyed Jafar Tashakkori Hashemi. The plan will be implemented before the beginning of the school year (starts September 23), he said, IRNA reports. Surveillance cameras have been installed in the zones and vehicles violating the rule will be fined.
