Tehran Subway Line 3 will be extended by 11 more stations by the end of the current Iranian year (March 20, 2016), said Abbas Gerami, Construction Assistant of Tehran Metro Company.
“With the addition, it will bring the total number of stations to 30 by the end of the year, Alef News Agency quoted him as saying. Tehran’s metro has 8 lines, and line 1-5 are operational.
Line 3 is one of the most important metro lines as it connects southwest Tehran to northeast, crosses busy parts of the capital city, and helps alleviate traffic problems. The line has a total length of 37 kilometers.
