Iranian researchers have created tissues similar to human organs to be used in transplant surgeries to replace damaged organs.
“The tissues are a potential replacement for human organs and could be used in surgical medicine,” said project manager Mohsen Akbari, a PhD in tissue and biomaterial engineering.
Researchers were successful in removing body cells and combine them with polymeric materials to make human tissue, reports ISNA.
Akbari who is a faculty member at the Canadian University of Victoria said once the artificial muscle is transplanted in the patient’s body, it can function normally.
