Warning to Hajj Pilgrims

Hajj (major pilgrimage) flights commence from Saturday (August 23) and pilgrims have been warned not to carry any type of pharmaceuticals, narcotics, and syrups in their baggage.

“Possession of any kind of drugs including codeine-rich medication is considered a crime in Saudi Arabia and the Saudi police take the crime seriously and deal with perpetrators accordingly,” said Airport Police Chief of Golestan Province Col. Mohsen Lorian.

Pilgrims will not be able to continue on their journey if they are stopped by the Saudi airport police in possession of medicines containing codeine and other banned drugs, reports IRNA.
