The Iranian Red Crescent Society plans to train one million school students in its student societies, said Saeed Babaei, IRCS deputy for student affairs. “Training will be focused on bringing amity and peace in the world,” he was quoted by IRNA as saying. Currently, there are 12 million school students in the country and the IRCS has plans to reach out to the entire student community through training and workshops. Other measures including drug-free districts, cancer prevention campaign, book reading contests, a national contest for student dialogue, and campaign against ethnic jokes are also planned for the upcoming school year (starts Sept, 23).
