The Iranian Blood Transfusion Organization has started the External Quality Assurance Project (EQAP) to standardize diagnostic blood tests by sending the first quality control samples to all laboratories across the country. The samples were previously imported at high cost, but are now prepared by IBTO’s Immunohematology Reference Laboratory and sent to 1,600 medical centers in the country, ILNA reports. The process will determine the level of accuracy by comparing the samples with tests conducted in medical centers and will help improve the quality of immunohematology services.
