The Saudi Ministry of Hajj has banned ‘deluxe’ hajj (major pilgrimage), according to Minister of Hajj Bandar bin Mohammed bin Hamza Asaad Al Hajjar. “Due to the higher number of pilgrims this year, deluxe hajj packages or five-star hajj that normally attracts the wealthy class is banned,” he said, reports IRNA. This year, 61,000 Iranian pilgrims have registered for the pilgrimage, says the Iranian Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization.
